MIDI2.dev was founded by members of the MIDI Association who are passionate about the future of MIDI 2.0.

MICHAEL LOH, CTO AmeNote, Inc.
Michael is the Chair of the OS API Working Group of the MIDI Association. He is a Senior Electrical and Computer Engineer. From telecommunications to amusement ride systems, Michael has a breadth of experience delivering technical innovations to industry and consumers. As the founder and former CTO of iConnectivity, Michael is well versed in music and audio technology and can apply his skills in Systems Engineering, hardware and software development to bring further innovation to the industry. Michael is the principal developer of the USB MIDI 2.0 Host driver for Windows. The AmeNote ProtoZOA is a brainchild of Michael.

ANDREW MEE, Chair MIDI 2.0 Prototyping Working Group, MIDI Association.
Andrew is a Business Operations Software and MIDI 2.0 Consultant, and is the leading architect of Property Exchange in MIDI 2.0. Andrew has worked in a variety of industries such as Music Technology, Education, Business Automation and Payment Processing; with a focus on Database (SQL and NoSQL), Web technology and API’s integrations between different businesses and technologies. Current clients include Yamaha Corporation, 8eo Inc, CapableCo, Keen Admins. Andrew is the developer of the MIDI 2.0 Workbench, the official MIDI 2.0 compliance testing application.

FRANZ DETRO, Principal Engineer, Native Instruments
Franz is a C++ developer and Audio/MIDI system architect covering a wide range of technologies, including firmware, USB, MIDI, middleware and Plugin frameworks. Franz performed a lot of proof-of-concept prototyping of core MIDI 2.0 concepts and specifications while those specs were in development. He has also made significant contributions to the ProtoZOA source code. As a very active member of MIDI Association and USB IF working groups, Franz is recognized as a key contributor to important standards for our industry.

MIKE KENT, CSO AmeNote, Inc.
Mike is the Chair of the MIDI 2.0 Working Group, Chair USB MIDI 1.0 & 2.0 Working Group of the USB-IF, and principal architect of MIDI 2.0. Mike filled international roles for Roland R&D for over 20 years, in product development, business development, while managing strategic relationships and technology licensing. Mike has consulted on music and audio technologies to Yamaha, Apple, Roland, Musescore, Artiphon, Analog Devices, Shure, Radar Recording, NASA’s Ames Research Center, and General Dynamics for the US Coast Guard.

BENOIT BOUCHEZ, CTO, KissBox
Benoit is a Senior Electronics and Computer Engineer, co-founder of KissBox, designing hardware and software of the whole range of products. He has a long background in RTP-MIDI and is a key contributor to the MIDI Transport Working Group. Benoit has developed multiple proof-of-concept implementations of the UDP Network for Universal MIDI Packet on Windows, MacOS, Linux, and on embedded devices (KissBox, ProtoZOA). He also teaches MIDI and Digital Signal Processing for audio at Université Polytechnique Haut de France.
